Preschool Curriculum

Every class has weekly thematic units in which the students will engage in science, math, art, dramatic play and music activities that correlate to the theme of the week. The other parts of our curriculum are customized to fit the theme to make learning engaging and fun. For example, if our theme is dinosaurs, the manipulatives in math class will be small dinosaurs to count and sort.

We use the Letterland curriculum to teach early reading and phonics skills. All 3, 4 and 5-year-old students will have fun learning letters and sounds with this engaging multisensory program. Songs, action tricks and characters help engage the children and encourage retention of early reading concepts.

Our mathematics and science curriculum teaches the children problem solving, early math skills including sorting, shapes, patterns, position words, measurement, number recognition, counting and comparing. Each class participates in a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) activity each week. The STEAM activity usually correlates with the theme of the week and can be a building project, experiment or other related activity. The children also learn science concepts like metamorphosis while watching real caterpillars change into butterflies in the spring.
