LITURGY COMMISSION

Liturgy Commission

The Liturgy Commission provides ministry members for the Saturday/Sunday Masses and Days of Obligation, works with our Priests and Deacons in preparing for the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, and Easter, works with the First Holy Communion and Confirmation staff, plans and arranges speakers for the Parish Mission and Liturgical Commission Day of Reflection and Renewal. 


Additional volunteers are needed for Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion (including Homebound EMs), Lectors, Ushers, and Greeters. Please contact the following to participate.

Altar Server Ministry

New Altar Server training is typically held 2 to 3 times a year. Please watch the bulletin for announcement.


Current Altar Server Refresher & Specialized training is also held for current servers 2-3 times a year (notifications done via e-mail).


Questions concerning scheduling should be emailed to Kara Martinez, karamartinez442@msn.com.  Matt Mixa, stmarkacolytes@gmail.com, and Peter Miano, 5mianosdeep@gmail.com, are responsible for training and communicating any changes in the process/practices for the Altar Servers.

The Altar Society is responsible for Altar flowers, Altar linen care, and Church decorating at Christmas and Easter.

Deaf Ministry

The Deaf Ministry provides signing interpretation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing at 9:00 am Sunday Mass.

Divine Mercy Cenacle

This group holds a bi-weekly prayer and discussion on Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of St. Maria Faustina, as a small Christian community.  Meets twice a month on Wednesday morning or Wednesday evening.

Greeters

Greeters welcome all parishioners to the Mass on Saturday evening and Sunday. They are to be present in the Narthex and the transept doors. Greeters welcome, open doors, answer questions, and hand out Bulletins.


Greeters must be 4th Grade or older, and must be dressed in Mass attire and wear a Greeter tag.

Holy Face Devotion

Prayer Group that meets in the Church every Monday from 5-6 pm to offer prayers of reparation to the Holy Face of Jesus.

Perpetual Adoration

Our Lord is waiting to spend an hour with you each week. You are invited to sign up for a weekly holy hour. Our goal is to have at least 2 weekly adorers per holy hour, however all hours are “open”.

Rosary Group

Parishioners meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 7:30pm in the Church to pray the Rosary.

Ushers

Ushers are responsible for seating parishioners, collecting offertory, counting parishioner attendance, helping with Communion, and distributing Bulletins after Mass has ended.  There is one Lead Usher per Mass, and any emergency issues must be directed to the Lead Usher. Ushers must be 16 years and older, and dressed in Mass attire with a name tag. Click here for more information.

Youth/Teen Mass

The purpose of the Sunday night Youth/Teen Mass is to develop an understanding and love of the Mass. Grades 8 to 12 are welcome to participate as Altar Servers, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and Ushers.
