Millions of Monicas

A prayer ministry where we, like St. Monica, pray for our children’s return to the practice of their Catholic faith.

Meets every Wednesday evening at 7:15 pm and Thursday morning at 10 am in the left transept of the Church.

Parish women are invited to come pray on Wednesday evenings or Thursday mornings with the Millions of Monicas ministry.

We meet in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle and pray for our children. Many women have watched their children or other family members abandon their Catholic faith in this chaotic, stressful and struggling world.

Together we will meet, write down the names of children for who you want to pray for, then pray the Rosary and other guided prayers. You don’t have to be a mother to come nor do your children have to be fallen-away Catholics. Together we pray and support one another. All women are invited to join in this hour on Wednesday evenings or Thursday mornings.

Mom Prayer: Almighty Father, soften the hearts of your children who have strayed from the true path You established for their salvation. Grant, that they may quickly return to the practice of every Christian virtue. Also hold in your protection Your children who continue to walk in their Catholic faith in a struggling world. We pray for all of them; that their lives may shine with the integrity of faith, the fervor of piety and the ardor of charity. We offer to you in prayer [State the Name]. Protect them and restore them all to your sacraments and the life of Your grace through the merits of the most precious blood of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. May we also grow in virtue and humility so that they may see Your love reflected in us! AMEN

The name Millions of Monicas comes from St. Monica who prayed for many years for her son to return to the Church. With the help of her bishop St. Ambrose, her son did indeed return and we now know him as St. Augustine. You can find a stained-glass window of these three saints in the right transept.
