Safe Environment Requirements for ALL Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at St. Mark Catholic Church.
We would love for you to become an active volunteer of our community!

All volunteers are required to complete a background check and safe environment abuse prevention and education training. And once safe environment certified, annual renewal training is required. Click here for additional information about the Diocese of Charlotte’s Safe Environment program and to register for a CMG Connect account that combines all our Safe Environment screening, onboarding and training in one place.

For the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults:

Everyone has a role to play in protecting children. North Carolina law requires all adults to immediately report suspected child abuse by anyone to law enforcement agencies. If you know or suspect that a minor (person under 18) has been abused, please call 9-1-1 or contact local law enforcement.

Also, if you have information about possible sexual abuse or misconduct by any clergy, employee or volunteer of the Diocese of Charlotte, report concerns securely and anonymously 24/7 over the phone or online: 1-888-630-5929 or www.RedFlagReporting.com/RCDOC.

User Instructions

All existing volunteers must login to CMG, regardless of when your background check was completed.

First, go to https://Charlotte.CMGConnect.org.

If you have previous safe environment certification (a VIRTUS account), your records have been imported to CMG Connect.

Please do NOT create a new account.

Click Sign In located in the upper right corner of the page. On the Account Login screen, use the username format: FirstnameLastname-rcdoc (ex: JohnSmith-rcdoc) and password: 1234

You will be prompted to update to a more secure password the first time you sign in. Once the new password is saved, return to the sign in page and use your new credentials to access your training.

If you are a NEW VOLUNTEER, please create a new account by completing all of the boxes under the Register for a New Account area. This will include your address, primary parish, and how you participate at your parish or school. Once your account is successfully created, you will automatically be brought to your training dashboard page.

Click the green START button to open the Safe Environment Training & Background Check for VOLUNTEERS - Charlotte module posted under the Required Trainings area of your dashboard. On the last page of the curriculum, after you have completed all of your training, you will submit your background check information.

Please enter your name as listed on your government issued identification.

NOTE: The training will show as Resume until your background check is processed and reviewed by the Diocese. This can take up to 7-10 business days.

If you have a valid email address associated with your account, you will receive a notification from webmaster@cmgconnect.org upon your approved certification.

NOTE FOR LECTORS AND EMs: Please complete the application for service found here:  Application for Service for Lectors and EM. Please print, sign, and turn in to the office.

Note for VOLUNTEERS 18 years and younger:  You do not need to complete any forms for underage to be complaint.
