Middle School Youth Ministry Coordinator (Part Time)


Saint Mark Catholic Church is seeking a part-time Middle School Youth Ministry Coordinator, who is a dynamic, energetic, practicing Catholic. The Coordinator of Middle School Youth Ministry should be passionate about inviting, accompanying, and inspiring middle school youth into a lifetime of pursuing deeper knowledge and love of the Catholic faith as intentional disciples of Christ.

Work Days:
Sundays and Mondays (2–3x/month), some weekends, flexible office admin time during the week


Position Summary:

The Middle School Youth Ministry Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing our EDGE Middle School Youth Ministry program for primarily 6th–7th grade students. This includes catechetical lesson planning, Core Team volunteer coordination, and material preparation for Sunday morning and Monday evening sessions held 2–3 times per month. The coordinator will also collaborate with the Confirmation Coordinator and High School Youth Ministry Coordinator to organize and lead quarterly combined youth events and actively participate in departmental events and team meetings.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead EDGE sessions for 6th–7th graders (2–3x/month on Sunday and Monday evenings).
  • Develop age-appropriate, engaging lessons rooted in Catholic teaching.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate Core Team volunteers to assist in sessions.
  • Prepare and organize necessary materials for each session.
  • Collaborate with Confirmation and High School Coordinator to plan quarterly Middle/High School joint events.
  • Participate in parish-wide faith formation events and staff meetings.
  • Support a welcoming, safe, and faith-filled environment for all participants.
  • Maintain communication with families and volunteers.
  • Keep accurate youth attendance records.


Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong understanding of Catholic teaching.
  • Experience working with youth in ministry, education, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team setting and manage volunteers.
  • Energetic, creative, and passionate about youth evangelization.
  • Must pass Diocesan background check and complete Safe Environment training.
