Volunteer Needs

The following are on-going needs at Saint Mark.

Transportation Ministry - Volunteers needed to occasionally drive parishioners to and from St. Mark Church for Mass. 

Social Committee- Help plan, organize and lead social events and/or serve refreshments at scheduled events.

Parking Team - Volunteers are needed to assist with Parking during 9 and 11 am Sunday Masses, and must be 18 years old. 

Groundskeeping- Help with maintaining the landscaping through planting, watering, weeding, and trash pickup on grounds as needed.  Varies with season. 

Greeters - Volunteers are needed to greet parishioners at all Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses.  Volunteers must be 4th Grade and older. 

Ushers - Volunteers are needed to assist in seating parishioners at all weekend Masses.  Volunteers must be 16 years old. 

Homebound Eucharistic Minister- Eucharistic Ministers take Eucharist to the Homebound after weekend Masses.  

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist- Eucharistic Ministers needed for all Masses, daily and weekend. 

Lectors- Lectors are needed for all Masses, daily and weekend. 

Catholic Charities Food Pantry Collection - A year-round collection of non-perishable food items.  Donations can be placed in the wooden bin in the Church Narthex.  Donations are taken to the Food Pantry at the Diocese of Charlotte.

Rise Against Hunger Meal Packaging - An event in the summer where the Parish comes together to package meals to be sent to the needy around the world.  Help is needed in planning the event, and on the event day.

 

Friendly Visitors- Friendly Visitors visit homebound parishioners at their place of residence to decrease the isolation of the elderly. 

Finance Department Volunteers-  Must be 18 years old and submit to a background check.

Perpetual Adoration- Spend time with our Lord, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  More information can be found at www.stmarknc.org/adoration

Clerical/Office Volunteer- Clerical support for the Church office, Parish mailings, and changing out Missals on and as needed basis. 

Lake Norman Community Health Clinic- Volunteer assistance at the free health clinic.  Nurses, Doctors, Interpreters, Office Assistance are all needed. 

Hope House- Provide support for sngle women and children that have been temporarily displaced from their homes. 

Men's Shelter of Charlotte - Prepare, cook and serve dinner to the residents of the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte on the second Wednesday of the month.

Levine Dickson Hospice House Meals - Provides meals for Levine Dickson Hospice House families during February and March.

Nursery - Volunteers are needed to help with the Nursery on Sunday mornings.

SONday FUNday - Volunteers are needed to help with the Sunday morning programs during the 8:30 am and 11:15 am Masses.
