Registration opens May 22 and will close on July 31
 

Important Notes:

  • In order for your registration to be complete, your family must be a member of our St. Mark Parish. Visit www.stmarknc.org/NewParishionerRegistration.
  • You must submit a copy of the Baptismal certificate for each child making their First Communion (regardless if previously provided).   This should be provided to the Faith Formation Office no later than August 31. 
  • Two years of sacrament preparation are required for First Communion.
  • Three years of youth ministry are required for Confirmation.
  • If your child was adopted from a country that follows the Eastern Rite (i.e. Russia or Ukraine), or they received sacraments through the Eastern Rite, please email Maryanne Pape (Grades K-5)at maryanne.pape@stmarknc.org or Emily Julian (Grades 6-8) at emily.julian@stmarknc.org.

Tuition and Fees

  • $75 per child (K-5, Edge)
  • $85 per child (Fidelis/Fraternus)
  • $50 Sacrament Fee for those receiving 1st Communion or Confirmation this year
  • $150 family Max (NOT including Sacrament Fee)

Catechists, Core Team Members and Volunteers - Registration fee for one child will be refunded in December.  Sacrament Fees will not be refunded.

For those registering AFTER July 31, there will be a mandatory late fee of $25 per child, and $10 per sacrament fee.

Nobody will ever be turned away from Saint Mark Faith Formation due to inability to pay. If you have financial hardships, please contact Theresa.Benson@stmarknc.org


We also offer a Family of Faith Formation Program. Parents meet on the first Sunday of the month, the Community meets on the third Sunday of the month, beginning with the 9 am Mass. In an attempt to ensure that all of our children have a safe and enriching experience here at St. Mark please provide any specific medical or physical needs that need to be addressed.

St. Mark Parish and Family Covenant
At your child’s Baptism, you accepted the responsibility for training your child(ren) in the practice of the Catholic Faith, which includes bringing your child up to keep God’s Commandments as Christ taught by loving God and our neighbor. The Covenant below outlines the responsibilities of both parent and Church in the raising of the child in our Catholic Faith. I/We, the parent(s) of the children we are registering, promise to faithfully continue to raise my child(ren) in the practices of our Catholic Faith which includes: - Attending Mass each week with my child - Having my children receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation a minimum of at least once a year. - Leading and encouraging prayer at home - Assuring that my child regularly attends Faith Formation classes and is prepared for class with books and homework (if applicable) and working with my child(ren) on learning their prayers and teachings of our Catholic Faith. We, St. Mark Parish, promise to faithfully provide your child with a spiritually engaging experience that strives for a conversion of heart and head towards Jesus Christ, providing your child with a fuller understanding and appreciation of our Catholic Faith. - Fr. Permission and Liability Waivers
Liability Waiver I grant permission for my son/daughter to participate in St. Mark Catholic Church’s Faith Formation and Youth Ministry programs. I understand this activity will take place under the guidance and direction of parish employees and/or volunteers from St. Mark Catholic Church. As parent/legal guardian, I remain legally responsible for any personal actions taken by my son/daughter named above. I agree on behalf of myself, my son/daughter named herein, our heirs, successors, and assigns to hold harmless and defends St. Mark Catholic Church, it’s officers, directors, agents and the Archdiocese of Charlotte from any liability for illness, injury or death arising from or in connection with my son’s/daughter’s attending faith formation and/or youth ministry. I release the staff, volunteers, etc. from any liability connected with the use of picture or voice recording as part of any of the above similar activities, and I agree to compensate the parish, it’s officers, directors and agents, the Archdiocese of Charlotte, or representatives associated with the event for reasonable attorney’s fees and expenses arising in connection therewith.
Photo Release I also consent to the use of any videotapes, photography, slides, audio-tapes, or any other visual or audio reproduction in which my son/daughter may appear. I understand that these materials are being used for promotion of faith formation and youth ministry at St. Mark Catholic Church. Such promotional activities extend to recruitment, fund-raising, advocacy, etc.
Discipline I understand that the following is expected of my son and/or daughter while they are in attendance at any faith formation and/or youth ministry event hosted by St. Mark Catholic Church. My son and/or daughter is expected to: 1. Remain on the premises throughout the duration of the program, unless accompanied by an adult leader, parent, or legal guardian. 2. Not leave the premises at the conclusion of the program without a parent/guardian or prior written permission by a parent/guardian. 3. Not physically or emotionally injure any youth or adult. 4. Not use foul or offensive language. 5. Not use or possess alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or weapons of any kind. 6. Abstain from public displays of affection. 7. Not wear immodest or inappropriate clothing (including clothing with offensive language or content contradictory to Catholic teaching). 8. Not damage or deface property. 9. Not use phones after arrival at a program unless an emergency arises and prior approval is sought from an adult. 10. Use the restroom prior to or upon departure from a program unless an emergency arises. 11. Demonstrate respect to any adult volunteers or staff members and listen to directives.
Consequences Consequences for violating an expectation outlined above vary depending upon the frequency of the violation and the impact to the safety of others. Consequences include, but are not limited to, verbal warnings, conversations with parents/guardians, parent and/or student meeting with priest and/or staff member, parent/guardian required participation at programs, and student dismissal from programs.
