Sacraments for Exceptional Students

Ages 6 – 18 with Additional Needs

“If Jesus connected with people with disabilities as a servant, shouldn’t that become the way we connect with them too?”

Families should not have to meet the challenges of raising a child with a disability without the love, care, encouragement, and tangible support of their church.

At Saint Mark Church, dedicated volunteers serve bi-monthly in our Friends of Jesus Ministry as a way to ensure that special needs families in our community feel welcomed and supported by our parish family.

It’s when the church partners with every parent to spiritually nurture his or her unique child who is made in the image of God.

Our goals are:

  • Showing our community that ALL people matter to God.
  • An increased sense of belonging for families of children with special needs.
  • Providing opportunities for kids to hear the Gospel.
  • Making a positive difference in the lives of children with special needs and their families.

This program is available to all children with additional needs age 6 to 18 at no cost to their families.  Classes are held on Sundays, from 11:00am to 12:15pm in the Monsignor Kerin Family Center on the second floor in Room 200.  There are a total of 13 sessions.

To find out more about this program for your child or to become part of it as a volunteer, please contact Pat Seifert at 704-947-2142 or patseifert@msn.com
