Welcome to the Resource Page for the St. Mark Catholic Church Altar Server Ministry. Here you will find materials that will assist you in your calling to serve our God in the sacrifice of The Holy Mass. Please bookmark this page and visit it regularly! All Altar Servers should regularly check the bulletin board in the Altar Server Sacristy before they serve. It will display important information and critical updates to procedures. In addition, a copy of the Altar Server Training Manual and the Altar Server Diagrams will be placed in the Altar Server Sacristy in a three-ring binder in case an Altar Server should have a question about procedures before serving. In the near future, look here under Training Documents for photos of objects with which Altar Servers should be familiar. We also plan to expand into training manuals specific to Benediction, Stations of the Cross and High Holy Masses (use of incense). We will also post training videos (and I’ll need volunteers for those). Questions concerning training and procedures should be directed to Daniel Hill at dmhill59@carolina.rr.com. From there the questions will be forwarded to Fr. Brandon Jones for consideration. Questions concerning scheduling should be directed to Mr. Brian Sisson at bsisson@firespire.com. Yours is a vitally important calling and responsibility. You are not up on that altar “for show.” You are partners with the clergy (the Priests and Deacons) in making the sacrifice of The Holy Mass as present to us now as it was two thousand years ago at The Last Supper. As previous Altar Server Ministry trainers Mr. Rider and Mr. Ohlhaut taught, you are assisting in the manifestation of a true miracle – and it’s happening only feet from where you kneel!
